What to check before buying
Match model codes. Look for Sage SES882/BES882 with Cold Extraction, Philips BAR300 (or confirm a BAR303 frother bundle), and JURA J10 rather than J10 twin.
Compare the full setup. Include any separate milk frother, milk container, filters and cleaning products. Read the seller’s UK warranty and returns terms, especially for imported or used offers.

How to choose coffee machines
Which coffee machine fits a small kitchen?
Baristina has the narrowest published body here at 18 cm, but its 38 cm depth is greater than Sage’s listed 34 cm. JURA is deepest at 44.6 cm. Measure width, depth and overhead access separately; do not decide from width alone.
Use a paper rectangle to mark each footprint on your counter. Then add your cup, space for a moving handle and any milk accessory. Check the manufacturer’s installation clearance before buying.
Espresso, lungo or latte?
For black coffee, extra milk automation may be unnecessary. Baristina concentrates on espresso and lungo. Sage textures milk in a jug; JURA uses a milk pipe. Think about whether you want involvement in preparing a drink or a more automatic sequence.

Follow the exact manual for cleaning products, intervals and removable parts. A rinse programme does not replace every cleaning task.
How much does each coffee cost?
Use your own bean price and actual dose: bean cost per drink = price per kilogram × grams used ÷ 1,000. For illustration only, £20/kg beans at 15 g per drink cost 30p; at 18 g they cost 36p. At two drinks a day for 30 days, that is £18 or £21.60 in beans. These are example doses, not measurements of these machines.
Add milk, cleaning products, filters, electricity and wasted coffee. Divide annual maintenance spending by your annual drink count. Purchase price divided by the number of drinks you expect to make gives a separate equipment cost per drink; it is not a prediction of machine lifespan.
Try a two-drink morning on paper
Write down your two usual drinks and the steps each machine would require. Include filling water, handling grounds, preparing milk and the cleanup afterwards. Then place cups and milk accessories on the intended worktop. This gives you a more realistic choice than comparing menu length alone.

Does Philips Baristina make lattes?
The BAR300 prepares espresso and lungo. Milk foam needs a separate frother. Check whether a BAR303 bundle includes one; it is not the same as automatic milk dispensing.
Is Sage Barista Touch Impress fully automatic?
